Janelle Kraus-Nadeau is considered the most highly decorated women's track athlete in school history. She finished her career as a four-time All-American, 11-time All-ACC selection, five-time ACC Champion and three-time Marge Crisp Wake Forest Female Athlete of the Year honoree. Her nine ACC Championships include five in outdoor track and two each in indoor track and cross country. Between 1996-2000, Kraus earned All-America honors three straight years in cross country and was then named an All-American in both the indoor and outdoor 5,000 meter run in 2000. A two-time Dean's List member at Wake Forest, Kraus was also a member of the ACC Honor Roll.
She won the 1997 ACC cross country championship then won the 3,000m and 5,000m at the 1998 outdoor ACC championships. Kraus repeated as cross country champion in 1998 and added indoor and outdoor 5,000m championships in 1999. As a senior in 2000, she won the indoor 3,000m and the outdoor 3,000m and 5,000m.
Following her senior season, Kraus was honored as the 2000 NCAA Woman of the Year for Wake Forest. She was also named to the ACC's 50th Anniversary team in track and field, one of only three Wake Forest athletes to receive that honor.
Kraus graduated from Wake Forest in 2001.
