
No. 7 Field Hockey Falls To Duke, 2-1

DURHAM, N.C. -- The seventh-ranked Wake Forest field hockey team suffered just its second loss of the season in a 2-1 defeat at Duke Sunday.
After a scoreless first half, Duke jumped on top with a goal by Angie North at the 11:51 mark of the second half. Caroline Helwig increased the Duke advantage to 2-0 with her goal with 8:23 remaining. Wake Forest's lone goal came at the 1:25 mark. Sophomore Jemima Cameron scored the goal off an assist from senior Amy Marchell.
With the loss, Wake Forest falls to 13-2 overall and 1-2 in the ACC. The Deacons will be back in action on Saturday, Oct. 23 when they host the Virginia Cavaliers in the final home game of the season. Gametime is scheduled for 1 p.m.
