WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Krisztina Papp tallied 20 points and seven rebounds to lead the FTC-Diego team of Hungary to a 79-48 victory over Wake Forest in a women's basketball exhibition game at Lawrence Joel Veterans Memorial Coliseum on Tuesday night.

The Demon Deacons suffered from cold shooting in their first on-court appearance of the 1999-2000 season, hitting just 32 percent from the floor (16 of 50) and sinking just one three-pointer on 16 tries. Junior forward Olivia Dardy led WFU with 12 points, while junior forward Kristen Shaffer added 10. Senior guard Alisha Mosley grabbed a team-high five rebounds.

FTC-Diego shot a blistering 58 percent from the floor and outrebounded the Deacs, 40-27. Andrea Karolyi added 19 points , five rebounds, and five assists for the Hungarian squad.

The game capped an emotional day for the Demon Deacons, who found out this morning that former assistant coach Stacy Cox died tragically in a car accident last night. Cox, 35, had played under Deacon head coach Charlene Curtis at Radford and served as an assistant on her coaching staffs at Radford, Temple and WFU. She left Wake Forest this past August to accept a teaching and coaching position at an elementary school in New Jersey. A moment of silence was observed in Cox's honor prior to tip-off.
