Trailing 12-7, the Deamon Deacons (42-21) loaded the bases and got three RBI singles when Brackley came to the plate, having hit only four singles in 15 at-bats all seasons.
He took the first pitch from Cody Salter for a strike, then belted the next one over the wall in center. The Deacons poured onto the field almost as soon as the ball left his bat.
The Illini (39-20) had 20 hits, 18 of them singles.
