Men's Basketball Wins Against VMI

LEXINGTON, Va. (AP) - Robert O-Kelly scored 16 points and Darius Songaila pulled down 11 rebounds Monday night as Wake Forest defeated Virginia Military 75-61.

The Deacons (6-1) outrebounded the Keydets 49-26 and went 9-for-16 from 3-point range. Josh Shoemaker added 10 points for Wake Forest, going 4-for-5 in field goals.

Wake Forest led by six at intermission, 39-33. A jumper by Zack Batte with just over 13 minutes remaining put VMI ahead 50-49. But the Keydets went into a scoring slump as Wake Forest scored 10 unanswered points and never trailed again.

Andre Quarles of VMI (0-4) led all scorers with 20 points, and Matt Matheny added 17 for the Keydets, who were hampered by 37 percent field goal shooting. VMI made only 8 of 24 shots from 3-point range.
