Reggie Austin Receives First ACC Outdoor Honor

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Reggie Austin, a Wake Forest junior, won the first 1999 ACC Performer-of-the-Week. Austin, who hails from Atlanta, Ga., won both the 100 and 200 meter dash at the 49er Classic in Charlotte over the weekend. Austin tied his own school record in the 100m with a time of 10.60, and then broke the previous Wake Forest record in the 200m with a time of 21.55.

Austin will next compete at the Wake Forest Relays on Friday at Kentner Stadium. The meet begins on Wednesday with the heptathlon and decathlon competitions. The meet runs Wednesday, March 17 through Saturday, March 21.
