Wake Forest Wraps Day One at 2025 VertKlasse Meet

Seven Demon Deacons made Friday appearances during the team’s third event of the outdoor season.
HIGH POINT, N.C. – Making a return to High Point for the second time in three weeks, the Wake Forest track and field team partook in day one of the Panthers' hosted VertKlasse Meet on Friday afternoon.
Three Demon Deacons notched top-10 finishes during the day, led by Abby Stankus in the women's high jump. The sophomore posted a mark of 1.55 meters that was good to tie for fourth place.
In the women's hammer throw, senior Isabella Gera and freshman Kristyna Peterova threw for 51.38 meters (6th place) and 49.36 meters (10th place), respectively.
Within the women's long jump, freshman Savannah Simmons secured a spot in the field's top 20 with a performance of 5.55 meters, good for 18th place. Junior Brenner McCamey competed in the men's high jump to mark 1.80 meters, tying for 14th place.
Rounding out the afternoon was Kira Lewis, the Deacs' lone runner of the day, who made an appearance in the women's 200m, clocking 27.56.
