Women's Tennis Advances to ACC Semi-Finals

ATLANTA -- The Wake Forest womens tennis team advanced to the ACC Championship semi-finals for the fifth consecutive year with a 5-1 victory over Georgia Tech Friday at the Bill Moore Tennis Center on the campus of Georgia Tech.
The Demon Deacons won five of six singles matches with Mariel Verban at number-one and Lule Aydin at number-two both recording three-set wins.
Wake Forest, the tournaments second-seeded team, will face third-seeded N.C.State on Saturday.
On the mens side, the Demon Deacons lost their opening round match to Virginia, 4-2. Wake earned one point by taking two of three doubles matches, but managed only one singles win, that by Jimmy Chou at number-six.
