TUSCALOOSA, Ala. -- The 11th-ranked Wake Forest women's tennis team shut out Alabama, 9-0, on Thursday afternoon in Tuscaloosa, Ala. With the victory, Wake Forest improves to 7-2 while Alabama falls to 0-8.
The Demon Deacons swept all six singles flights in straight sets, losing just five games in total. Nicola Kaiwai, Lule Aydin, Mariel Verban, Annemarie Milton, Caroline Ullring and Terrie Hiete were all credited with singles victories.
Wake Forest will return to action on Saturday when they open Atlantic Coast Conference play at Florida State.
