Men's Soccer Wins Exhibition Game

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C.--Junior Trent Lind scored two goals to lift the Wake Forest men's soccer team to a 4-2 victory over Greensboro College in the team's first exhibition match of the 1998 season at Spry Stadium on Saturday night.
Wake Forest dominated the game, outshooting Greensboro 26-7. Junior forward Greg Krauss, a transfer from Ohio University playing collegiate soccer for the first time, opened the scoring for Wake with a goal at the 31:06 mark to give the Deacs a 1-0 halftime lead. Lind scored just 1:06 into the second half to make it 2-0, but Greensboro's Glenn Collins answered with a score just 19 seconds later. Senior Kyle Bachmeier and Lind added insurance goals for Wake before GC's Kenneth Keathley scored with just 39 seconds to go.
Wake Forest will host Coastal Carolina in another exhibition game at Spry Stadium next Friday, August 29th, at 7:00 p.m. The Deacs open the regular season on September 1st against Virginia Tech at home.
