Wake Forest Announces Women's Volleyball Signees

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- Wake Forest head volleyball coach Mary Buczek announced that three players signed national letters of intent to play for the Demon Deacons on Wednesday morning. All three will enroll at Wake Forest as freshmen in the fall semester of 1999. The volleyball signees:
Jessica Doss (Austin, Texas/McCallum H.S.)
Doss was a four-year starter at outside hitter on her high school varsity team. She was a three-time all-district selection and district MVP as a senior. Doss was selected to the all-tournament team at the Northwest Invitational in Fort Worth twice, earning the tournament's Most Outstanding Offensive Player in 1998. She was also a four-time academic all-district choice and all-state academic team member as a senior.
Ashlee Phillips (Huntington Beach, CA/Marina H.S.)
Phillips played setter, while leading her team to back-to-back Sunset League championships in 1997 and '98. She also led her team to a tie for third place at the Division I California State Finals this past season. Phillips was also a first team All-Sunset League selection as a senior, while leading her team to a second place finish at the Division I State Tournament Southern Region.
Amanda Tiller (Bristol, TN/Tennessee H.S.)
Tiller is a two-time first team all-state selection and a three-time all-district, all-region and all-conference pick. In 1998 she was named District Player-of-the-Year. A versatile athlete, she has also received all-conference honors in basketball and softball. Tiller was also named MVP at the Wake Forest volleyball camp in 1998. Tiller holds records at Tennessee High for most kills (1,234) and blocks (322) in a career. A National Honor Society inductee, she ranks first in her senior class of 243.
