Wake Forest Selected to Host NCAA Baseball Regional

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Wake Forest will be one of 16 schools to host regional tournaments of the 1999 NCAA Division I Baseball Championship, the NCAA announced today.
The tournament will be held Friday through Sunday, May 28-30, at 6,500-seat Ernie Shore Field and will feature four teams, including the Demon Deacons, in a double elimination format. The NCAA will announce the tournament pairings and the complete 64-team field on Monday, May 24 at 3 p.m.
Tickets for the three-day event are $7 per game for adults and $3 per game for children and students. Tournament ticket packages will also be available at $30 for adults and $10 for children and students. The winners of the 16 regional tournaments will advance to eight Super Regionals for the chance to earn a berth to the College World Series. Wake Forest will be hosting a NCAA Baseball Regional for the first time in school history.
