Huffins Wins Bronze Medal at World Championships

SEVILLA, SPAIN ? Chris Huffins, a volunteer coach with the Wake Forest Track & Field program, won the Bronze Medal in the decathlon at the IAAF World Championships in Sevilla, Spain.
Huffins, who is coached by Wake Forest assistant track coach Noel Ruebel, accumulated 8,547 points in the event while posting the top time in the 100 meters (10.43 seconds) and the second best marks in both the 110 meter hurdles (13.98 seconds) and the discus (49.48 meters).
Tomas Dvorak of the Czech Republic won the Gold Medal with a score of 8,744 points while Great Britain?s Dean Macey captured the Silver with a score of 8,547.
Huffins, who is the two-time defending U.S. National Champion in the decathlon, will continue to train for the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney.
