Women's Cross Country Finishes Second At Mountaineer Invtational

BOONE, N.C.-In the first cross country action of the 1999 season, Wake Forest senior Janelle Kraus led the Demon Deacon women's cross country team to a second place finish at the Mountaineer Invitational.
Kraus finished the 5,000 meter course in a time of 17:28 to capture the individual title for the third consecutive season. Kraus now owns a Wake Forest school record 11 individual titles in her career.
South Florida finished with 28 points to win the team title, while Wake Forest placed second with 39 points and UNC Asheville came in third with 66 points.
Demon Deacon junior Kelly Brady took fourth with a time of 18:14 while junior Erin Haugh crossed the line fifth in 18:18.
The Wake Forest women's cross country team will return to action at the Pre-ACC meet on Saturday, September 18 in Chapel Hill, NC.
