Wake Moves Up In ITA Poll

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - The Wake Forest women's tennis team moved up to fifth in this week's ITA poll released today.

The Deacons moved up from their ninth place ranking in last week's poll after reaching the semifinals of the USTA/ITA National Team Indoor Championships in Madison Wis. last weekend. The Deacs defeated Ole Miss and Pepperdine, both higher ranked teams, before losing in the semifinals to then-third-ranked California. The Golden Bears moved up to second in this week's poll. Stanford, who won the tournament, remains the top ranked team in the poll.

Wake Forest will host the 15th-ranked Notre Dame Fighting Irish at the Wake Forest Indoor Tennis Center on Sunday at 12 p.m. Admission to all tennis matches is free.
