Engel Advances At Indoor Championships

DALLAS - Wake Forest freshman Adria Engel advanced to the second round of the Rolex National Intercollegiate Indoor Championships at the Brookhaven Country Club on Thursday.

Engel defeated Cintia Tortorella of Pepperdine 6-1, 7-5. With the win, Engel, ranked sixth by the ITA with a 19-3 overall record, will next face Esther Knox of Georgia on Thursday in the round of 16. Knox defeated Megan Miller of Duke 6-1, 7-6 in the first round.
