WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - The third-ranked Wake Forest women's tennis team defeated Florida State by a score of 8-1 at the Leighton Tennis Stadium on Saturday.

Wake Forest captured all but one of the six singles matches. Adria Engel played at No. 1 singles, defeating Alida Gallovits 6-0, 6-1. At No. 2 singles, Bea Bielik defeated Nanette Duxin 6-4, 6-2. Janet Bergman defeated Kia Asberg 6-0, 6-4 at No. 3 singles. Jackie Houston won No. 5 singles by default and Annemarie Milton defeated Christy Travis 6-0, 6-0 at No. 6 singles. The Deacs clinched the victory by winning all three doubles matches.

With the win, Wake Forest moves to 12-1 on the season and remains undefeated in ACC competition. The nationally ranked Deacs will return to action next Saturday, April 1 when they travel to William & Mary.
