Wake Men's Track Competes At UNC Charlotte

Charlotte, N.C. -- The Wake Forest men's track team competed this afternoon in the UNC Charlotte Collegiate Series Meet. Four athletes from Wake took home first place honors in their events.
Junior John Stone won both of his events, taking victories in the 100 and 200 meter dashes. Stone completed the 100 meter dash in 10.32 seconds, and crossed the finish in the 200 meter dash in 20.9 seconds.
The Deacons were also successful in the field, with Wake taking victories in the high jump, pole vault and in the javelin throw. John Bull won the high jump with a distance of 1.93 meters, while Scott Holmes cleared 4.7 meters in the pole vault to win that event. Alan Susi threw a distance of 51.4 meters in the javelin throw to finish first.
Wake Forest's 4x400 meter relay team finished second behind UNC Charlotte. The four Deacon runners clocked in at 3:19.93. Cliff Neal placed second in the hammer throw with a distance of 52.74 meters, and third in the discus throw with a distance of 39.4 meters. Ryan Hamilton finished the 200 meter dash in third place with a time of 22.15 seconds and also took fourth place in the 400 meter dash with a time of 48.38 seconds.
The Wake Forest men's track team will be in action April 20-22 at the ACC Outdoor Championships in Durham, NC.
