Wake Forest Hosts NIT Championship Celebration

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - All Demon Deacon basketball fans are invited to join in the Wake Forest National Invitation Tournament Celebration, to be held this Tuesday night, April 4, at 7:00 p.m. in Reynolds Gymnasium on campus. There is no admission charge for the event.
Head Coach Dave Odom and the 1999-2000 Demon Deacon basketball team will be present to greet fans and celebrate the program's first-ever NIT title. The university will officially present the Deacs with their NIT championship trophy, and Coach Odom and Tournament Most Valuable Player Robert O'Kelley will address the fans. The Wake Forest band and cheerleaders will also be a part of the celebration.
The Demon Deacons defeated Notre Dame, 71-61, in New York City's Madison Square Garden last Thursday night to earn the 2000 NIT crown.
MEDIA ADVISORY: All local media are invited to attend the Deacs' NIT celebration on Tuesday night. Please call Clara Andrews in the Wake Forest Media Relations Office (336-758-5640) if you plan to attend. The celebration is expected to last 30-45 minutes, and Coach Odom and the Deacs will be available for interviews following the festivities.
