DURHAM, N.C. - The No. 3 ranked Wake Forest women's tennis team defeated Duke 6-3 and ended Duke's 116-match overall and 82-match regular season ACC win streak. Wake Forest delivered Duke its last ACC loss on March 30, 1989 (5-4) in Winston-Salem, N.C.

The Deacs captured four of the six singles matches. Adria Engel defeated Dukes' Megan Miller at No. 1 singles (6-0, 6-2). At No. 2 singles, Bea Bielik defeated Kathy Sell (6-1, 6-4). Janet Bergman defeated Katie Granson at No. 3 singles (3-6, 6-1, 6-1). Winning the No. 6 singles match was Annemarie Milton, defeating Prim Siripipat (5-7, 6-4, 6-2).

Wake secured the victory by picking up two of the three doubles wins. The team of Bielik and Bergman knocked out Brooke Siebel and Erica Biro, 8-3 at No. 1 doubles. At No. 3 doubles, Engel and Houston defeated Kathy Sell and Katie Granson, 8-6.

The Deacs' win streak moves up to eleven and they remain undefeated in ACC competition with a team record of 14-1. The Deacs travel to Raleigh on Saturday to face N.C. State at noon.
