Loewenthal Falls In Qualifying Round At ITA All-American Championships

STONE MOUNTAIN, GA - David Loewenthal, a sophomore men's tennis player for Wake Forest, lost in three sets Monday morning in the qualifying round of the ITA All-American Championships Prequalifying Tournament at the Lincoln Tennis Center to Oggie Kolev from Arkansas. Loewenthal won the first set 6-4 and Kolev won the second set 6-2 to force a third match, which Loewenthal lost 6-1.
Loewenthal and doubles partner Trent Brendon qualified on Sunday for the next draw of the ITA All-American Championships - the qualifying draw, Oct. 9-10. They will square off against a tandem from Ohio State Tuesday morning, Oct. 9.
