WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Wake Forest volleyball is riding a hot streak right now, enjoying four wins lately, three of which are in the ACC. The true test will be Tuesday night in Durham, when Wake faces the 12-2 Duke Blue Devils at 7:30 p.m.
Wake has increased its record to 10-5 overall and 4-2 in the ACC. The Deacons were successful this weekend on their road trip, defeating Virginia 3-0 and Maryland 3-1. Junior setter Ashlee Phillips stepped up her entire game to lead the Demon Deacons. Against Virginia alone, Phillips notched 39 assists, 13 digs, seven kills, two service aces and hit an impressive .583 for Wake. The two wins this weekend add to wins at home versus UNC Greensboro and NC State to begin a four-game winning streak for the Deacons.
Duke just enjoyed a 3-0 win over Virginia, despite recent losses to North Carolina and Maryland. The Blue Devils have been on fire this season tallying a 12-2 overall record and 4-2 in the ACC, becoming the ACC team to beat.
Wake leads the all-time series record versus Duke 9-8.
