Bersagel Qualifies For NCAA Championships

WINSTON-SALEM, NC - The Wake Forest men's cross country team received an at-large bid to the NCAA Championships Monday afternoon and freshman Anne Bersagel, from the Wake Forest women's team, was also chosen to compete individually. After finishing third at the Southeast Regional Championships Nov. 10, the 17th ranked Demon Deacon men's team was picked to join the field for the NCAA Championships Nov. 19 at the Furman University Cross Country Course in Greenville, SC. Bersagel led the Demon Deacon women's squad to a seventh place finish out of 26 teams at the Southeast Regional Championships Nov. 10 with a 12th place finish individually, earning all-regional honors.

Senior Chris Estwanik led the Wake Forest men's team Nov. 10 at the Southeast Regional Championships with an eighth place finish. He and teammate Nathan Sisco, who finished ninth overall, both automatically qualified for the NCAA Championships individually, but will now be joined by the rest of their team.

The men's race will cover 10,000 Meters and will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 19. The women's 6,000 Meter race will start at 12:15 p.m. For more information, go to FurmanPaladins.com.
