NFHCA Announces Field Hockey All-Americans

Winston-Salem, N.C. - The National Field Hockey Coaches Association announced their three Division I All-American teams today and three Wake Forest players were recognized. Senior Jemima Cameron was named to the first team, while junior Heather Aughinbaugh and sophomore Kelly Doton were named to the second team.

Cameron, a senior midfielder from Perth, Australia, was honored as ACC Co-Player of the Year, sharing the award with Maryland's Autumn Welsh. She finished the season with 10 goals and eight assists for 28 points. She was also named an NFHCA South Region Senior All-Star this year. In just three years at Wake Forest, she recorded 99 points, which is good for fourth in team history. She was a three-time All-ACC selection and this year she was named to the All-ACC Tournament team. In 2000, she was a first team STX/NFHCA Regional All-American and a third team National All-American.

This is the first time Aughinbaugh has been honored as a National All-American, although in 2000, she was a second team Regional All-American selection. The junior forward from Denver, Pa. earned her second All-ACC selection this year and on October 8, she was named the ACC Player of the Week. Aughinbaugh was tied for second on the team in goals with 11 and led the team in assists with 10.

Doton, a sophomore from Greenfield, Ma., receives her first All-America nod this season by being named to the National second team. She was an All-ACC selection this year and was named to the All-ACC Tournament team. She was named ACC Player of the Week on October 29. Doton's 11 goals tie her with Aughinbaugh for second on the team this season.
