Deacons Complete First Round Of ACC Event

Orlando, Fla. - The Wake Forest women's golf team lists in a tie for second place after one round of play at the 2001 ACC Championships in Orlando, FL. The Deacs posted a team score of 312 after the first round and trail leader Duke by 19 strokes.
Sophomore Nuria Clau and junior Katie Brenny are each tied for the team lead, shooting a five-over 77 to tie for ninth place heading into tomorrow's round. Senior Marta Prieto and Maria Beautell each tied for 13th place after carding a seven-over 79. deb means, in her first acc championship posted a score of 82 and will enter the second 18 in 23rd place.
The Deacs will tee off once again in the second round of the ACC Championships in Orlando on Saturday morning.
