Marta Prieto Finishes 35th at NCAA Golf Championships

Howey-in-the-Hills, Fla. - Wake Forest senior golfer Marta Prieto saved her best for last, as she shot a one-under par 71 in the final round of the NCAA Women's Golf Championships on Friday on the El Campeon Course at the Mission Inn Resort. With that round, her best of tournament, Prieto, competing as an individual, finished in a tie for 35th overall.
Prieto birdied three holes on Friday while bogeying just two for her score of 71. She finished the tournament with a 13-over par 301 (74-76-80-71).
Duke's Candy Hannemann and Arizona's Lorena Ochoa tied for first place with a three-under 285. Hannemann went on to win individual medalist honors by winning on a playoff hole. The University of Georgia captured the team title, defeating second-place Duke by three strokes.
