Women's Cross Country To Run Friday Night At Winthrop

WINSTON-SALEM, NC - The Wake Forest women's cross country team will compete in the Great American Cross Country Festival this Friday, Sept. 21 at Winthrop Farm Meadows in Rock Hill, SC. The 5,000-Meter Run is scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m. The Demon Deacons, ranked 21st in the nation, are coming off a third place finish at the Mountaineer Open in Boone, NC on Aug. 31.

Wake Forest head coach Annie Schweitzer Bennett decided to add the Great American Cross Country Festival to the Demon Deacons' schedule after last Saturday's Wake Forest Open was canceled due to the national tragedies.
