ATHENS, GA - David Bere, a junior men's tennis player for Wake Forest, was beaten by Georgia Tech's Stephen Moros in the Division II singles semifinals Monday morning at the Southern Collegiate Championships hosted by the University of Georgia. Bere, who hails from Midland, MI, got his season started with four straight wins in the tournament before losing a tough semifinal match in three sets. After dropping the first set 6-7, Bere fought back and took the second set 7-6 forcing a third set in which Moros won 6-1.

Bere and the Demon Deacons will return to action in less than two weeks, when they travel to Stone Mountain, GA, to compete in the ITA All-Americans Oct. 5-14. Complete results from the Southern Collegiate Championships are available at georgiadogs.com.
