WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - The Demon Deacons go on the road this weekend to participate in the Wyoming Invitational in Laramie, Wyo. After posting three straight wins this past weekend in the Deacon Invitational, Wake Forest looks to repeat their success on the road.
The Deacons play the Idaho State Bengals to start off the tournament on Saturday, Sept. 7 at 11:30 a.m. The Bengals are coming off of a win versus Montana-Western on Tuesday, finishing them off in three straight games. Then at 4:30 p.m., Wake Forest takes on Oklahoma, who just lost a close match to Sam Houston in four games.
On Sunday, Wake Forest competes against UT-Arlington at 4:30 p.m. The Mavericks just defeated Arkansas-Little Rock in four games. The final game for the Deacs will be at 9:30 p.m. versus Wyoming. The Cowgirls are currently 0-2 for the season, losing to Cincinnati and Furman.
The Deacons will rely on seniors Trina Maso de Moya and Margaret Davidson to lead the team as well as junior Ashlee Phillips and sophomore Ashley Fisher. Unfortunately the injury of freshman Valerie Rydberg (tore her meniscus) has caused her to redshirt this season.
