Wake Forest vs. Clemson Jan. 12, 2002 - Postgame Quotes
Wake Forest Head Coach Skip Prosser On the game: "We played as well as we could play. We shot the ball well with 23 assists for 35 baskets and only 14 turnovers. We shared it (the ball) and guarded it. We played as well all 40 minutes."
On having extra practice for the game: "No question, we had an extra day that Clemson didn't have. Those 24 hours definitely helped us."
On Clemson's Chris Hobbs in early foul trouble: "He's a good player and strong inside. Having him on the bench was good for us."
On Wake's bench: "We can't be successful without significant contributions from them. It's a hard role coming off the bench. Those guys handle it well, especially Ervin Murray. He is handling it well and making it a positive situation."
On adjusting to uptempo style: "We are at our best when we are running the basketball. We are getting better at handling the ball at full speed. The best attack is in transition."
On Virginia: "They are an experienced, veteran, top-ranked ACC team. It will be a great challenge for us."
Wake Forest Players
Senior Forward Antwan Scott
On defending Clemson's inside game: "He (Coach Prosser) wanted us to come out with great intensity. We are still learning how to play hard and we wanted to show that in this game. We knew coming into the game that it would be a challenge defending the post."
On 3-0 start in the ACC: "It's great. We wanted to stay focus and just play. It is the first time we have been in first since we have been here and since this is my last year I want to go out on top."
Freshman Forward Vytas Danelius
On playing aggressive defense: "We had to out rebound them and front the post. They were plus nine in rebounding margin coming into the game. We had to play aggressive defense against them."
On his double-double: "I don't keep track of how many points I score. What happens, happens."
