RALEIGH, N.C. - The Wake Forest volleyball team evened its conference record to 3-3 Saturday night with a 3-1 victory at NC State. Jumping out to a two game lead by scores of 30-12 and 30-18 the Demon Deacons (9-10, 3-3 ACC) dropped game three 30-27 before polishing off the Wolfpack (3-20, 0-5) 30-27 in game four. The win gives Wake Forest head coach Valorie Baker her 50th career victory, all at Wake Forest in her third season at the helm.

Sophomore middle blocker Kim Stern led the Deacs with 18 kills and seven blocks. Redshirt freshman outside hitter Valerie Rydberg and senior setter Ashlee Phillips both had attacking percentages over .400. Rydberg hit .417 with 13 kills, three service aces and a team-leading 11 digs. Phillips hit .462 with eight kills to go with 47 assists, three aces and eight digs.

Rebecca Anderson led NC State with 14 kills to go with six digs. Melanie Rowe had nine digs and Lindi Sheppard posted 30 assists.

Wake Forest returns to action next week when the Demon Deacons return home to host Clemson at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 15, Georgia Tech at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 19 and Florida State at 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 20 in Reynolds Gym.
