Women's Golf Takes Four Stroke Lead Into Final Round

The Wake Forest women??s golf team continued its stellar play shooting a nine-over par 297 Saturday at the Landfall Tradition hosted by UNC Wilmington. The Deacons have a four shot lead over Purdue with a 19-over par total of 595.
The 54-hole event concludes Sunday at the Landfall Golf Club, a Pete Dye design.
Wake Forest senior Nuria Clau leads all individuals shooting a second consecutive one-under par round of 71. She has a four shot lead over four golfers, including sophomore teammate Christine Hallstrom.
Hallstrom, in her first collegiate start of the season, also shot a one-under round of 71 to give her a two-over total of 146.
Sophomore Ashley Hoagland followed up her three-over par 75 with a four-over par 76, good for 15th place.
Senior Maria Beautell shot a seven-over 79 to give her a two-day total of 156 (12-over par).
Freshman Julie McKenna added a 12-over par 84 giving her a 164 total, 20-over par.
