Women's Golf Falters On Final Day, Finishes 4th

The Wake Forest women??s golf team struggled in the final round of the Landfall Tradition, shooting a 16-over par round of 304. The Deacons entered the final round with a four-shot lead but could not hold on to it as Tulsa came back from 11 strokes to win. Wake Forest finished fourth with an 899 total of 35-over par.
The 54-hole was played at the Landfall Golf Club, a Pete Dye design.
Wake Forest senior Nuria Clau won the individual title shooting a final round of par, 72. She finished with rounds of 71-71-72, to give her a two-under par total of 214. She finished one-shot ahead of Florida State??s Kristin Tamulis. This win is Clau??s first collegiate victory.
Sophomore Christine Hallstrom shot a six-over par round of 78 to give her an eight-over total of 224 and a tie for 12th. Sophomore Ashley Hoagland also shot a 78 on Sunday to give her a 13-over total of 229. Senior Maria Beautell shot a four-over 76 to give her a tournament total of 232 (16-over par). Freshman Julie McKenna added a nine-over par 81 giving her a 245 total, 29-over par.
