Estwanik Provisionally Qualifies

Nikeya Green, a sophomore middle distance runner on the Wake Forest women's track & field team, automatically qualified for the NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships with career best performances this weekend. Green, a Woodbridge, VA native, broke the school record with a time of 2:06.86 in the 800m at the USA Indoor Track & Field Championships at the Armory Track & Field Center at 168th Street in New York, NY.
Carol Merritt (So., sprints, Raleigh, NC) also competed at the USA Championships this weekend. Merritt ran a 23.78 in the 200m, provisionally qualifying for the NCAA Championships and breaking her own school record, again.
Chris Estwanik, a senior middle distance runner on the men's team, ran a career best provisionally qualifying time of 8:04.27 for third place in the 3,000m at Notre Dame's Alex Wilson Invitational at the Loftus Sports Center in South Bend, IN.
Former Demon Deacon, Jill Snyder, also competed at the USA Championships and finished fifth in the 800m with a time of 2:07.55. Snyder, a five-time All-American at Wake Forest, is an assistant coach on the Demon Deacon staff and also runs for adidas.
