Noting the Demon Deacons: Wake Forest clearly had its best offensive week of the season, hitting .407 in five games with 14 home runs, outscoring its opponents 71-29... that total includes five runs on nine hits in five innings off projected first-round draft pick Joe Saunders of Virginia Tech... Wake Forest scored 52 runs in three games vs. Maryland, the most runs scored by a Deacon club in an ACC series since the conference adopted the format in 1990... the sweep of Maryland gave Wake Forest its 10th straight conference series win... Jamie D'Antona hit four home runs against Maryland over the weekend, giving him nine bombs against ACC teams... eight different Deacons hit a total of 14 home runs this week... Dave Bush fired three innings of scoreless ball against Maryland and has now given up just one earned run in 18.2 IP against ACC opponents... Kyle Sleeth's complete game shutout was Wake Forest's first since 2000 when Ben Clayton no-hit UNC Greensboro... Sleeth did not let a Terrapin reach second base until the eighth inning... Nick Blue hit an amazing .750 (12-for-16) this week with his first home run of the season, seven RBI, nine runs scored and an impressive seven stolen bases... Blue swiped four bags on Friday against Maryland, the most by a Deacon in a single game since 1988... Ryan Braun got his first win on the mound since the ACC Tournament last year... Braun made his second start of the season on Sunday vs. Maryland and yielded just two earned runs in six innings with seven strikeouts.
