WINSTON-SALEM, NC -- With the addition of two high school student-athletes, the Wake Forest baseball program announced the completion of its 2002 recruiting class on Tuesday. During the spring signing period, the Deacons added Casey Sterk, an infielder/outfielder from Encinitas, Calif., and Kyle Young, a right-handed pitcher from Irving, Texas.
"Combined with our fall signees, we fill each of our needs for next year," head coach George Greer said. "We lose three senior pitchers and could lose a couple juniors to the draft. However, these young men will help keep us in the upper echelon of the ACC."
"We feel very good about this class," recruiting coordinator Jamie Mabe said. "Each of these six student-athletes will be major contributors in our efforts to maintain our level of success both nationally, and in the Atlantic Coast Conference."
