With the loss, Wake Forest...
- - Drops to 44-10-1 overall.
- - Has its three-game ACC Tournament winning streak snapped.
- - Loses to Florida State in the ACC Tournament for the second consecutive year. Since 1998, Wake is 3-3 vs. the Seminoles in ACC Tournament play. The Deacons have a winning record against every other ACC opponent it has played in the tournament since '98.
- - Slips to 17-5 in ACC Tournament play over the last five years combined.
- - Loses its first ever game as a No. 2 seed in the tournament, 11-1 overall.
- Adam Bourassa extended his season-best hitting streak to 13 games with a single in the sixth inning.
- Wake Forest's two runs tied for the third-lowest single game total of the season. The Deacons were shutout by Clemson and plated just one run at Elon.
- Ryan Johnson hitting streak extended his hitting streak to 12 games. Johnson is 8-of-13 in the ACC Tournament.
- With one RBI tonight, Jamie D'Antona has 11 RBI in seven career ACC Tournament games. D'Antona has 74 RBI for the season - the fifth-most single-season RBI in Wake history.
- D'Antona had two base hits tonight - his 17th multiple-hit game this season. D'Antona has six base hits in the tournament - two in each game.
- Adam Bourassa made his 55th consecutive start in center field for the Deacons, Ryan Johnson made his 20th consecutive start and Jeff Ruziecki made his 19th consecutive start at first base.
- The Deacons will play Clemson in one of the tournament's semifinals on Saturday afternoon at 3:30 p.m.. Wake went 1-2 at Clemson this season (all games played in Clemson, S.C.). The Clemson series was the only series loss of the season (of nine) for the Demon Deacons.
- Wake Forest and Clemson have not squared off in the ACC Tournament since 1999 when the Deacons beat the Tigers twice on their way to an ACC title. Tim Morley will start on the mound against the Tigers.
- Blair Varnes' complete game marked the fourth complete game thrown against the Deacons this season, the third in the last seven games.
- Wake drops to 25-4 when scoring first, 9-6 vs. nationally-ranked teams and 5-4 against teams ranked in the top five.
- The crowd of 4,002 was the third-largest Wake has played in front of this season.
