... improves to 11-1 when playing on Sunday

- Dave Bush made his 141st career appearance, which puts him in first place all-time in ACC history. Bush has made 55 more appearances than any pitcher in Wake Forest history. Today was also Bush's 39th appearance of the season, which leads the nation and ranks second in WFU single-season records. Bush, in fact, ranks first, second and third in Wake Forest history for single-season appearances.
- Bush ran his record to 8-1 with the victory. He had seven victories in the first three seasons of his career combined.
- Bush had five strikeouts today, giving him 236 for his career. Today he passed Eric Schmitt (233 career K's) and Mike Buddie (235 K's) for fifth place on Wake's all-time career strikeouts list.
- Adam Bourassa had three hits today, giving him 101 for the season. He is just the third player in Wake Forest history to reach 100 single-season hits. Jon Palmieri did it twice -- in 1998 and 1999 -- and Cory Sullivan did it twice -- in 2000 and 2001.
- Junior pitcher Ryan Braun, hampered with a back injury earlier this season, made his sixth start of the season today. It was Braun's second career NCAA Tournament start (he was the losing pitcher last season vs. Tennessee Tech) and his fourth career NCAA Tournament appearance (he saw action in two games vs. South Carolina in 2000.
- Wake Forest stole its 74th base of the season. Only two teams in Wake Forest history -- the 2001 team (96 SBs) and the 1988 team (80 SBs) -- had more single-season pilfers than this Deacon team.
- Twenty-seven of Wake's 60 games this season have been decided by two runs or less. The Deacons are 22-4-1 in those contests.
- Junior Jeff Ruziecki's 10th-inning single was his fifth game-winning RBI of the season and his first since April 26 vs. Clemson.
- Wake Forest will play Richmond for the seventh time in NCAA Tournament play (the Deacs are 4-2 against the Spiders in those games). That makes the Spiders Wake's most-frequently played opponent in NCAA Tournament play, just ahead of West Virginia (six meetings).
