WINSTON-SALEM, NC -- Shortstop Ben Ingold was named to Collegiate Baseball's Freshman All-American team, the publication announced on Wednesday. Pitchers Brian Bach, Daniel Davidson and Tim Morley each received honorable mention.

After missing the first four games of the season with a back injury, Ingold became the team's everyday shortstop, starting 56 of the team's final 57 games. The native of Durham and graduate of Riverside High School batted .305 on the year with two home runs and 29 RBI. He tied for the team lead with 16 doubles.

Bach, a freshman out of Mount Tabor High School in Winston-Salem, tied for third on the team with six wins. He posted a 6-2 record with a 6.60 ERA with 33 strikeouts in 45 innings of work. His best outing was a complete game performance on April 24 at Virginia Tech.

Davidson was a top reliever for Wake Forest, appearing in 15 games, 13 out of the bullpen. The native of Huntsville, Ala., finished with a 3-0 record and a 4.34 ERA with 30 strikeouts in 29 innings.

Morley spent much of the season in the weekend rotation and ended his season with a 6-3 record and a 4.41 ERA. The freshman from Buffalo Grove, Ill., fired two complete games including one in the NCAA Tournament against Navy. Morley started in each of his 16 appearances, with 71 strikeouts in 87.2 innings.

Ingold, Bach, Davidson and Morley become the 10th, 11th, 12th and 13th Deacons to receive Freshman All-America honors. The four selections are the most in a single season for Wake Forest. Last year, the Deacons had three selections -- Jamie D'Antona, Kyle Sleeth and Adam Hanson.
