Women's Golf Drops To 16th Place After Two Rounds

Wake Forest women??s golf team dropped from a tie for 14th to 16th place after a second round score of 313 (25 over par) in the Women??s NCAA Fall Preview here Monday. Wake Forest is 49 over par with a score of 615.
The 54-hole event started on Sunday and concludes on Tuesday at the Kampen Course near Purdue University.
Sophomore Ashley Hoagland shot a 4-over 76 to jump from a tie for 54th into a tie for 39th with a total of 154 (78-76). Senior Caroline Stetler shot a 5-over 77 for a 12-over par total of 156. Senior Maria Beautell added an 80 for a 14-over 158. Junior Deborah Means also shot an 80 Monday to add to her 79 for a 15-over par 159. Senior Nuria Clau struggled after shooting a 77 Sunday. Clau shot an 84 in the second round for a 17-over par total of 161.
The Kampen Course at the Birck Boilermaker Golf Complex will be the site for the NCAA Championship in May. The stellar field consists of 18 teams which finished in the top-23 of last year??s NCAA Championship, including all 10 teams from the top-10.
