Loewenthal and Spice Advance to Quarterfinals at Baylor Intercollegiates

WACO, Texas - David Loewenthal and Derrick Spice won their first two doubles matches Saturday to advance to the quarterfinals of the Baylor Intercollegiates. The two members of the Wake Forest men's tennis team also both won their third round singles matches to advance to quarterfinals of that draw as well.
The Demon Deacon duo beat John Guerrero and Naeem Kath from Lamar 8-6 in the first round of doubles play and then stopped Loren Collins and Eusebie Oprea from Texas A&M CC 8-4 in the second round. They will face Diederick de Groot and Devin Wakeford from Texas Tech in the quarterfinals tomorrow.
Loewenthal defeated Drew Hoskins from Texas 6-4, 6-2 in the third round of the singles draws. He will take on the Longhorns'Allistair Jenkin tomorrow in the quarterfinals. Spice rolled past Justin Hunter from Colorado 7-5, 6-3 in the third round of singles play. He will play Benedikt Dorsch from Baylor in the quarterfinals tomorrow.
