Indoor Track Competes at Kroger Invitational

The Wake Forest men's and women's indoor track & field teams were in action on Friday and Saturday at the Virginia Tech Kroger Invitational in Blacksburg, VA. Senior Elizabeth Washman tied for third in the Pole Vault with a mark of 3.40m, while senior Patrick Ladapo finished 10th in the 60M Run with a time of 6.93.
For the women, Shauna Danos finished 20th in the 400M Run with a time of 58.76. In the Mile, Kara Mullin captured 21st with a time of 5:09.38 and Molly Nunn finished 40th with a time of 5:25.01. Jackie Muscente came in 17th in the 600M Run with a time of 1:41.63, and in the 800M Run, Adralyn Wendel took eighth with a time of 2:13.99, Nikeya Green in 14th with a time of 2:16.79 and Catherine Fortin-Major in 27th with a time of 2:20.24. Jill Miller placed fifth in the 3,000M Run with a time of 9:44, Courtney Lancashire in 14th with a time of 10:18.04, Denise Hefferin in 22nd with a time of 10:32.95 and Elizabeth Hagood in 33rd with a time of 11:05.27. Cassy Richards took eighth in the Long Jump with a mark of 5.77m. Lindsay Newberger tied for fourth in the Shot Put with a mark of 14.74 and 14th in the Weight Throw with a mark of 13.80. Jill Kovalcik came in fifth in the Pentathlon.
On the men's side, Eric Seely took 16th in the 200M Run with a time of 22.15, Luke Orman in 39th with a time of 23.29 and Raymond Harbert in 48th with a time of 23.62. In the 800M Run, Kevin Jones took 18th with a time of 1:56.09 and Westin Galloway finished 33rd with a time of 1:59.15. In the Pentathlon, Mike Eskind took eighth, while Michael Piscetelli came in 12th.
The Demon Deacons will return to action on Jan. 31 and Feb. 1 at the Penn State Invitational in State College, PA. Complete results from the Virginia Tech Invitational are available at hokiesports.com.
