Women's Cross Country Finishes Second At Notre Dame Invitational

SOUTH BEND, IN.- - The 20th ranked Wake Forest women's cross country team placed second out of 20 teams in the blue division on Friday afternoon at the Notre Dame Invitational. Eight Demon Deacons competed in the race, including Anna Sherman who finished third overall. Freshman Michelle Sikes also placed in the top ten, coming in eighth overall.
The Deacs collected 105 points as a team, second behind only second-ranked Notre Dame who finished with 73 points. Penn State, Duke and Vanderbilt rounded out Friday's top five finishers.
Three more Demon Deacons in addition to Sherman and Sikes placed in the top 50. Hanna Bremler placed 14th overall, Lisa Gibbs finished 35th and Erin Franklin came in 45th.
