Davidson, NC - The Wake Forest field hockey team traveled to Davidson College Wednesday night, and routed the Wildcats, 12-0, tying the school record for goals in a game. The Lady Deacs advance to 12-0 on the season, continuing a 31 game winning streak.

Wake Forest scored 12 goals on three other occasions, most recently against Appalachian State on Sept. 23, 1998.

Junior Kelly Dostal lead the squad with three goals, while Lucy Shaw connected with the net twice. Kelly Doton, Kelly Wood, Lauren Crandall, Martha Ferger, Kristi Harshman, Haley Scott and Emily Ruth scored a goal each. Claire Laubach and Maeke Boreel each finished the night with six assists, breaking the school record of five (Susan Bowman vs. Longwood, 9/28/94).

Katie Ridd started the game in goal, while Kristina Gagliardi finished the game after half time. Neither goalkeeper had any saves, nor any shots against them.

Wake Forest outshot Davidson, 46-1, with 26 penalty corners, to Davidson's zero. The Deacs have outshot their last three opponents, 137-3, for a combined score of 24-0.

The Deacs return to Winston-Salem for Homecoming Weekend this Sunday against the fourth-ranked Duke Blue Devils (9-2, 0-2). The game begins at 1:00 pm in Kentner Stadium.
