Women's Golf Travels to South Carolina

Columbia, S.C. - The Wake Forest women's golf team travels to Columbia, S.C., this weekend to compete in the Lady Gamecock Classic at the University Club.
The tournament hosted by the University of South Carolina begins Friday and ends Sunday. The 54-hole event will be contested on the University Club, which measures 5,996 yards, and par is 72.
Competing for Wake Forest will be seniors Nuria Clau and Maria Beautell, junior Deborah Means, and sophomores Ashley Hoagland and Christine Hallstrom.
The Deacs will compete along with 15 other teams: Alabama, Auburn, Duke, Florida State, Furman, LSU, New Mexico, New Mexico State, North Carolina, Purdue, South Carolina, Texas, Texas A&M, Vanderbilt, and Wake Forest.
This will be WFU's second spring event. The Deacs finished in eighth place in the Lady Puerto Rico Invitational. The next event will be the Bryan National Collegiate, March 28-30, at the Bryan Park in Greensboro. Wake Forest and Greensboro will co-host this event.
