Women's Golf Second Round Rained Out

Columbia, S.C. - The second round of the Lady Gamecock Classic has been cancelled due to inclement weather and the event has been shortened to 36-holes. The tournament will resume Sunday at 9:00 am.
Friday, the Deacons shot an eight-over 296 to take a four-stroke lead over Duke.
Senior Nuria Clau leads the Deacs with a one-over par 73 and is currently in a fourth place tie, one shot behind the leaders. Fellow senior Maria Beautell is one stroke behind Clau with a two-over par 74. Joining Beautell is junior Deborah Means who also shot a two-over par 74. Their scores of 74 place Beautell and Means in a six-way tie for ninth. Sophomore Ashley Hoagland added a three-over par 75 for the Deacs, good for a 15th place tie. Freshman Julie McKenna shot a 23-over par 95, and sophomore Lesley Jamieson, in her first collegiate action shot a 26-over par 98. Jamieson is competing as an individual in the event.
The Lady Gamecock is contested at the University Club, which measures 5,996 yards and par is 72. Results can be found daily at golfstat.com and wakeforestsports.com.
