WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Wake Forest junior Bill Haas is one of four golfers named to the 2003 United States Palmer Cup squad, as announced by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) on Tuesday. The Palmer Cup, named after Wake Forest and PGA legend Arnold Palmer, is a match play event between collegians from the United States and their counterparts from Europe. In last year??s event held in Doonbeg, Ireland, Haas was the only player from either team to go undefeated, leading Team USA to the victory. The U.S. team leads the Palmer Cup Series, 4-1-1, and has won all three matches played on American soil.
Joining Haas on the 2003 squad is North Carolina's Dustin Bray, TCU's Adam Rubinson and Vanderbilt's Brandt Snedeker. The other four members will be announced at a later date. Georgia Tech coach Bruce Heppler will guide the U.S. squad.
