Field Hockey Opens Season In Big Ten/ACC Challenge

Winston-Salem, N.C. - The Wake Forest field hockey team opens its quest to defend its national title in Ann Arbor, Mich. in the Big Ten/ACC Challenge hosted by the University of Michigan.
The Demon Deacons will open up the challenge against Iowa on Sunday at 11:00 am. This will be the third meeting between the Deacons and Hawkeyes, with each team garnering a victory. Last year, the Deacons fell to Iowa 1-0, despite out-shooting the Hawkeyes 19-5.
On Monday, the Deacs will combat the host Wolverines at 2:30 pm. This match will mark the seventh meeting between the two squads, with the Deacons holding a 4-2 edge in the series. In last year's challenge, the Deacs shutout the Big Blue 2-0.
Following the Big Ten/ACC Challenge, Wake Forest will host James Madison on Sunday, September 7th at 1:00 pm in Kentner Stadium.
