
Deacs Sweep Coppin State

WASHINGTON, D.C.-- The Wake Forest volleyball team needed just three games to cruise past Coppin State in match one of the Georgetown Classic in Washington D.C. on Friday evening. The Demon Deacons improved to 5-1 on the season while Coppin State fell to 0-6. Sophomore Christy Williams led the way for the Deacs with 16 kills.
Erin Borhart chipped in with five kills, seven digs and 39 assists, and Katy de Roeck was second on the team with eight kills. All 15 Wake Forest players saw action in the match.
The Demon Deacons return to action Saturday when they take on William and Mary at 11 am. The Deacs then finish out the weekend with a match against host Georgetown on Saturday evening at 7 pm.
