Sikes Named ACC Cross Country Performer of the Week

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C.-- Wake Forest freshman Michelle Sikes was named the ACC's Female Cross Country Performer of the Week on Monday. Sikes, a Cleveland, Ohio native, was the top finisher overall at Saturday's 6k Wake Forest Alumni Invitational with a time of 18:00. The seventh ranked Demon Deacon women also finished first as a team.

This marks the second time in as many races that Sikes has been named ACC Performer of the Week. She also received the honor after placing first at the Mountaineer Open in Boone, N.C. on August 29th.

The Wake Forest Cross Country teams return to action on Sept. 27th when they travel to St. Paul, Minn. for the Roy Griak Invitational.
